Seven Steps to Becomming a Student

Step 1 Browse the QIMR webpages and lists of  Student Projects.
Step 2 Identify your area of interest, contact a potential supervisor and arrange a suitable project.
Step 3 Students cannot be appointed until they have been approved by the QIMR Higher Degrees Committee. Apply using the
admit form  QIMR Student Admission Form .
Your CV, academic record and an outline of the background, objectives and methodology of the proposed project must be submitted with the form.
First check the entrance qualifications and stipend information.
Step 4 Submit an enrolment application to the enrolling university. BSc(Hons) students must be accepted into an Honours programme in an appropriate university department. PhD students must come with a competitive external scholarship.
Step 5 Apply for a QIMR top-up award (if applicable) using a
Topup Application form   QIMR Topup Application Form
Step 6 Coordinate with your supervisor to obtain clearances from the QIMR Ethical and Biosafety Committees, via the QIMR E-forms system, and the enrolling University's Ethical and Biosafety Committees.
Step 7 Begin your research program.
