Endometriosis and Endometrial Cancer
Molecular Epidemiology of Endometrial Cancer: the Australian National Endometrial Cancer Study (ANECS)A. Spurdle, P.Webb, D. Purdie in collaboration with A Obermaier (RBWH), M Quinn (Royal Women's Hospital, Melbourne), P Blomfield (Royal Hobart Hospital)
This project is collecting epidemiological and clinical data and blood and tumour samples from 1500 women newly diagnosed with endometrial cancer, a comparable group of cancer-free women, and selected relatives of patients who report a family history of cancer. The aims are to clarify existing and identify new environmental and genetic risk factors for the different subtypes of endometrial cancer, and to examine the genetic basis of disease within multiple-case families.
