The Griffith Medical Research College (GMRC) was established in 2004 as a joint initiative of Giffith University and the Queensland Institute of Medical Research with the aim of encouraging collaboration between researchers of both organisations. The GMRC currently comprises more than 60 staff and students carrying out medical research across a broad range of areas, including cancer, infectious diseases and other disorders.
