The Rio Tinto Ride to Conquer Cancer is an incredible 2-day, 200km ride to raise money and awareness for cancer research and treatment at QIMR.
People of all shapes and sizes, all ages and from all abilities will come together in one amazing show of force. It takes strength in numbers to battle cancer and thousands will raise millions for our work which includes, among other things:
-
Ground-breaking research, investigating the causes of more than 13 cancers including skin, brain, colorectal, breast, ovarian and lymphoma.
-
Upon completion in 2012, brand-new 15-floor research facilities that will further increase the Institute’s research capacity to accommodate 20 new research laboratories and attract an additional 400 scientists and students, increasing QIMR’s staff capacity by more than 50 percent.
To see how the funds from the 2011 Rio Tinto Ride to Conquer Cancer have impacted on cancer research, see our thank you page.
