Glandular fever

Glandular fever (or infectious mononucleosis) is caused by the Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) and usually affects young adults. EBV is transmitted by saliva. Symptoms of glandular fever include nausea, fever, chronic fatigue, and enlarged lymph nodes, liver and spleen.

Most adults are exposed to the virus in early childhood or during adolescence.
