Appropriately qualified candidates can undertake research towards an Honours degree, a component of a coursework Master degree, for example a Master of Public Health, a Research Master (MPhil) or PhD at QIMR.
If you wish to study at QIMR you should first identify an appropriate project and a QIMR scientist who supports your application and will supervise you during your time at QIMR. Find out more about:
- QIMR laboratories and scientists
- Potential projects
- Admission as an Honours or Coursework Masters student
- Admission as a PhD or Research Masters/MPhil student
As QIMR is not a university and so cannot award degrees directly, you must also enrol through an Australian university. Most QIMR scientists hold joint or conjoint appointments with university departments enabling them to supervise students and some students also have a Co-Supervisor or Associate Supervisor from their home university. Conditions for completion of the degree are those of the enrolling university.
Enrolling Universities
- Bond University (BU)
- Griffith University (GU)
- Queensland University of Technology (QUT)
- The University of Queensland (UQ)
- University of the Sunshine Coast (USC)
- James Cook University (JCU)
- Central Queensland University (CQU)
For further information about potential projects, supervisors and QIMR labs you can contact Education Coordinator (E education@qimr.edu.au) or to talk to a student representative (E studentrep@qimr.edu.au)
