Why support QIMR?

We are living longer than ever - thanks to medical research! Better
screening and diagnostic tests, more effective drugs, treatments and surgical
procedures allow more than 2 out of 3 people in Western Society to live to
over 77 years.
QIMR is Australia's largest medical research institute with more than 700 scientists and staff searching for the causes and cures, vaccines and treatments for more than 30 life-threatening diseases and conditions. Each laboratory requires an average of $10,000 per week to operate.
It is only with the generous support of companies, community organisations, groups and individuals, and through fundraising, that QIMR's scientists have been able to make significant advances in medical research, particularly cancer research. QIMR's official quarterly newsletter, LifeLab, is published four times per year and acknowledges many of our supporters.
