The organising committee extends an invitation to you to attend the Mosquito Control Association of Australia and the Arbovirus Research in Australia Symposia in Coffs Harbour, New South Wales, Australia, in September 2008.

The symposia bring together research arbovirologists, entomologists, field biologists, epidemiologists, and vector control specialists in a unique networking environment
designed to promote collaboration and partnerships to improve preparedness, prevention, and control of vector-borne diseases of both medical and veterinary importance.

This meeting will address the theme of “Preparing for the future – responding to emerging disease threats”, and will present an exciting forum for the exchange of ideas and expertise. International and national keynote speakers, informative and educating workshops, concurrent sessions and discussion groups will ensure that delegates have access to the latest research on existing and emerging threats to regional public and veterinary health.

The venue for the meeting is the Novotel Pacific Bay, an attractive resort situated on the Charlesworth Bay Beach, three kilometers north from the city center of Coffs Harbour. For international and interstate guests, Coffs Harbour is served by direct flights from Sydney.

A vibrant and entertaining social program will also be on offer to maximise networking opportunities for delegates.
